Philip is a Paso Fino gelding. His name means “Lover of Horse”. Philip is approximately a 15 hand, 2010 model. Philip is a super fun ride, he is gaited. He has a motor. I ride him in a side pull or bosal. Philip prefers soft hands and a quiet seat, so best suited for a rider with experience; a rider who understands their form and function. He loves to be groomed, and will soak up all the attention. Always happy to see me, he comes when he is called.... (read more) Gentleman for the vet and farrier. I’ve ridden him in the ring, and around the property with a tiny trail loop out back. Trailered home in 2021, and hasn’t left property since. Philip has solid, barefoot hooves. No health issues, maintenance or supplements. Philip lives in a mixed herd, and comes in his stall for meals. He is low man in the herd, a solitude guy. He prefers mares and they think he is pretty handsome. When he meets geldings for the first time, he can be dramatic and noisy (he will squeal).
I strive for connection based training, and would like him to go to a “bottom up” (instead of “top down”) person. If ad is up, he is available. Philip comes with a lengthy contract. I am looking for the best fit for Philip, Vet and Farrier references required. I am really into horsemanship, letting a horse have an opinion, starting from scratch, building trust and creating a relationship with the horse, not just about riding. I would like to see my horses go to someone who will love on them, do ground work, build a connection, and have a whole body/mind approach, not someone who just wants to hop on for a ride and go like they’re a machine. Anyone looking for a new love this spring? Please send me a bit about you, your riding style, and what you are looking for in a new horse.
