This almost two year old is captivating, clever and ready! Blythe will be two in May. 3/4 Standardbred and 1/4 Dutch . She is currently 16 hands at last measure and is no where near done growing. I’ve found her a quick study. She picks up her feet, stands quiet when tied, stalls nicely, yields front and hind quarters, backs up, lowers head, offers forehead and other basic handling using voice cues. She accepts deworming. Blythe leads respectfully and knows to stop when I stop moving.... (read more) She even self corrects to make sure she is behind me when we stop moving. She is nervous in new situations and takes time to access her surroundings, she can be impatient in situations that aren't up to her expectations. She has been slow to trust me in new scenarios and remains hesitant to have her ears handled. She does however halter with ease and lower her head to accommodate haltering. She comes in from from the pasture when called, enjoys practicing established skills and has been seen regularly by an excellent ferrier and chiropractor and vet. Coggins be drawn this week.
