Everyone meet Billy. I really can’t say enough about this big handsome guy. He’s 10 years old and sticks exactly 16.0 hands making him the perfect size. Palomino and white draft cross. He really is the best of both worlds being a draft cross and a palomino and white paint. If safety is your top priority Billy is the horse for you. They really don’t come much safer. This is a horse you can put anyone on and not have a single worry in the world.... (read more) He’s a steady eddy type that just does whatever you ask of him. Billy has super smooth gaits and is only going to go as fast as you tell him to. You can ride him with a nice loose rein and totally relax on a horse like him because you can be rest assured you are safe! Billy rides English and western. Walks, trots, canters, stops, stands and backs. Only thing he doesn’t do that well is neck rein but that’s easily taught if a person wants. Stands at the mounting block and does not walk until asked. Knows his leads, moves off leg and has great transitions for a drafty guy. Billy is even willing to jump. We have only asked him to go over very small stuff and I doubt he’s ever jumped before but he’s happy go lucky and so willing he’s just game for whatever. Happily rides around the indoor arena and outdoor arena. He would be a phenomenal addition to any therapy program, mounted patrol unit, lesson program or just a family or person looking for a really quiet safe mount. This is the horse 90% of people are looking for. He’s the kind you can ride daily, weekly or monthly and he’ll still be the same way every single time. If you’re a person that needs a confidence builder he will do that job all day long. A great size where he’s not to big but he’s big enough to carry every size rider. Out on the trails he is absolutely unflappable and goes wherever you point him. Rides out alone or with others. Not barn or herd sour at all and he is completely road and traffic safe. Hard to call one spook proof but he’s about as close to that as you can find. Nothing phases him and he’s the kind of horse you can throw a guest on, go down the trail and enjoy the scenery. Billy has a very sweet in your pocket personality and exceptional ground manners. No vices at all and a very easy keeper. Happily lives inside and out. Gets along with all other horses or he can be alone. Barefoot, 100% sound and has excellent hooves. A very easy keeper that requires no grain or supplements.
