Contessa is a once in a lifetime horse. Raised from a baby on our farm has only known love and kindness. Contessa is a gentle, curious , smart and sound, vice free, well bred mare. She is both physically stunning and a exceptional performer under saddle. She has been desensitized to all manner of wildlife, cars, bicycles, ATVs, tarps, gun fire, and large groups. Training includes long distance rides throughout Kentucky and Tennessee ( lots of hills for proper muscle development!... (read more) ) Currently she’s being ridden in the Cherokee Mountains .This patient , delightful beauty is both sane and sound. She is definitely not a Marish —-mare ! Our Contessa is seeking her forever trail partner. Tessa, as we call her is a , well behaved horse— she has a kind eye and is actively engaged on the ground and under saddle. She seeks a partnership with her human. We are very proud to have Tessa come out of our small breeding program. If you are looking for a horse that was raised , trained, and started right, is not spooky or nervous, but rather kind, gentle and affectionate Tessa would be a great match. We use natural horsemanship principles to Train and develop our Horses rather than tricks or shortcuts. Just common sense training lots of desensitizing, pressure and release and confidence building experiences such as week long trail rides .She has a lovely 4B lateral gait will flat walk all day and falls into gait, naturally without the need for any devices or extra training or heavy weighted shoes, she is just easy-going, non-spooky partner —we have taken her on several week long trail rides. She jumps in the trailer, stands for mounting stands tied, will Highline will cross water, jumps logs, and isn’t afraid of dogs. In fact, she loves them. She is a willing and kind partner we can’t find a single vice to report about this horse , this is what you get when you breed train and raise them right!
