Boozer is a very well rounded gelding that has been used on a ranch doctoring, roping, sorting, drug cattle to the fire, and has done team roping on both ends. He will ride very well for any type of rider on a loose one hand neck rein, will also ride off leg pressure, bareback and just a halter. He has a good backup, stop, side pass, and spin. Boozer A BIG, STOUT ranch horse gelding standing 16.1hh, he is a gentle giant and very sweet!! He is broke for anyone to ride. He is quiet enough for a beginner and broke enough for the old pro. He has no problem with you carrying a flag, opening/closing gates, he will walk down streams, over fallen trees, he is used to heavy equipment and its sounds, we have a construction company next door and he is used to all their heavy equipment (i.e. dump trucks, semi's, lawnmowers, track hoes, etc.) He has no problem walking up/down steep ditches and ravines, he will go anywhere you point him, thru thick brush, in the woods with no spook. We took him to the arena and he was GREAT with all the commotion and people riding around, he was calm when we walked him by the banners, and dumpsters, and the barrels. He never got nervous or antsy. Boozer will ride the same way every time you ride him once a week, once a month, or once a year.
Boozer will stand ground-tied while being saddled, groomed, and bathed. He stands still while being tacked up, clipped, groomed, being sprayed for flies, picking his feet, and being mounted (from the ground or a mounting block), while standing tied, for the vet/farrier, he loads well and hauls well. He is easy to catch, is super gentle, and has AWESOME ground manners. He is kid and dog friendly and gets along with all of our other horses (mares and geldings alike).
Boozer would be a great prospect for many things such as; ranch rodeo, rodeo pick up horse, pony horse, western pleasure, mounted patrol, trail riding, trail riding competitions, queen's contests, play days, drill team, barrels, poles, grand entry, parades, ranch sorting, team penning, walk-trot, lead line, 4H/FFA, or as a lesson horse. Boozer would be great at teaching the kids to ride, rope, and do the ranch work, go on the trails, and do play days.
He is a beautiful fleabitten gray gelding, big and stout standing 16.1hh with a handsome face, a kind eye, and a nice mane, tail, and forelock. He has good conformation, a strong thick neck, nice withers, a straight back, a wide chest, and hip. He is a good size for a larger/taller rider, he can easily carry 300+ pounds.
Boozer is very calm and forgiving, has a good mind and learns quickly, has a good disposition, and is smart enough to learn any type of job. He will fit the novice or the pro.
