Capone is that gelding that everyone is attracted to not just because of his dashing looks but also his charming personality! He has been apart of our family since he was a yearling. At just 5 years old, Capone is one of those “born gentle” kind of geldings therefore his training has assembled in an unusual yet distinctive way.. Capone’s first few rides were in the field, bareback, with no bridle or halter. With less than 20 rides, he had been ridden through the busy traffic and commotion of the Fort Worth Stockyards, when my fiancé and I got engaged!... (read more) Capone is special to us in many ways, but that tops the cake!
Capone also knows a days work! He has been used extensively on the ranch and has experience roping, dragging calves, gathering, sorting, etc. Capone’s size and capability gives him potential to be a great pickup horse in the arena as he has been used to shag broncs out of the arena and trip flanks.
Capone has been exposed to many new places, trails and events. He does great on overnight camping trips, as we go to several chuckwagon races throughout the year and camp through the week. Capone has been on several night rides where he has crossed creeks, stepped over logs, and had the tasks of packing the music and the saddle bags! He is the point and go type and is super automatic on the trails. Doesn’t get in a hurry and stays quiet. Capone is always that guy we can count on to pack the inexperienced/unconfident rider around on anytime we need him.
Capone has also been rode english inside and outside of the arena and is started on the jumps. He loves the challenge and is stunning under english tack. He is so smooth and comfortable to ride! Very easy to operate and has all of the buttons you could ask for! He is confident and sure footed in every thing he does, on and off the trail. Standing 16 hands, Capone knows the “comeover” cue and will side pass to you off any surface for you to easily get in the saddle. He lays down and will even sit like a dog. Horses like Capone are rare and don’t happen often! Don’t miss out on him! SELLS at Great American Ranch and Trail Horse Sale in Lexington, VA APRIL 6-8
