If you have been searching for a solid, safe, and dependable trail horse that is very well mannered, then Tonto is your guy. He is 14 years young, stands a nice 15 hands, and is stocky enough to carry anyone in the family. His gorgeous and unique Appaloosa coat pattern is just the cherry on top when it comes to this horse.... (read more) He is broke and easy to get along with on the trails. He is suitable for all ages and levels, and is not forward or hot headed. Very uncomplicated to ride, whether you want a horse that neck reins or prefer to ride two handed. He rides good and can be enjoyed in the arena. He has a nice trot and canter (takes leads, responsive to cues). Tonto really stands out from the rest out on the trails. He has been ridden all across the United States, in all different types of terrain: from mountains, plains, to the badlands, and he has swam in large lakes and rivers. He has been in huge organized group rides, ridden with wagon trains, and is confident enough to trail ride out on a relaxing solo ride. Lately he has been part of our trail horse string that we have used to introduce our lesson kids and their families to trail riding. He has been very reliable and taken great care while these novice riders experience their first trail ride. Tonto is a great camping partner whether you leave him tied to a hitch rail, in a portable stall, or in regular stalls if they’re offered. He stands very quiet and patiently and has no vices. He loads and unloads great in all trailer types. Tonto has also been ridden in several parades, and is completely traffic safe. He is not bothered by loud noises, dogs, farm equipment, or other livestock. He is very used to our chaotic and fun barn atmosphere. He crossties and ties in the aisles without paying attention to the hustle and bustle of everything around him. He has always been extremely healthy and 100% sound. He requires no special shoeing, supplements, or maintenance. He is up to date on vaccinations, worming, farrier, and teeth.
Tonto has a wonderful sweet personality, and is really going to pair great with that family or individual who is looking for a flashy, safe and solid trail horse, or horse to ride around the farm and back roads. He loves attention and is super easy to handle for novice riders.
