Additional Comments
Luke is a coming 10yr old, 15hh gelding that I raised myself. He's been shown and trail ridden extensively by all level riders. While he's had an extremely successful show career bringing home many championships, this means he's regularly been exposed to new locations and sights, new horses, and new situations. He's more woah than go but not totally lazy either. He will go the speed you ask. He's been trail ridden by multiple riders including by a confident novice on the famous Knott County Fall Trail Ride (if not familiar a quick google search will show how stimulating this trail is for horses).... (read more) He stands crosstied for baths, being tacked, and the farrier. Loads in a trailer with no trouble. He was a stallion most of his life until I decided to geld him to be able to take him on more overnight trails (many places don't allow stallions). As a stud his only stallion behavior was leaning to grunt against his stall wall at other horses which has quieted after gelding of course. He's one of the smoothest gaited you will ride. Gaits on a loose rein as well but prefers light contact. He's very intelligent, picking up new things quickly. I've started teaching him to neck rein and to bow. He's learning both at a great pace. No buck, rear, or bolt. His spook style is a turn his head and he goes by to look at whatever was a trigger. He's super sweet and loves attention. Only selling because I need to downsize as I go back to school and will have less time than he deserves. An excellent home is a must for Luke. He's been a one owner horse and I want his next home to be his last. He has earned RMHA trail miles and Versatility Bronze level achievements. He's registered and certified in RMHA and KMSHA. He is also KHBIF money eligible to earn points trail riding, versatility, and showing. He's priced at a steal for his value and thus the price is firm.
