Dapples for days!! Meet Balou. He stands a solid 15.1hh with strong bones and sturdy conformation. He’s covered head to toe in deep beautiful dapples. Balou is by Glossos Valinto a stunning Spanish Norm and out of a quarter horse mare. Balou is 8 Years old. This horse is as sensible as the day is long, in absolutely every aspect.... (read more) He trail rides in a group or will gladly venture out alone. He’s quiet and steady moving. He will walk along and soak in the views or he will effortlessly move out into a trot or canter. The breaks are also good! He is 100% ok with wildlife, woods, water, traffic, bikes and even a blow up dinosaur if you happen to come across one. You won’t find an obstacle that will phase him. He has also been ridden in the arena and he has great self carriage and will make all the circles as round and supple as you ask of him. He jumps around full courses and enjoys it. He will even do flying changes when asked! We have used him in our lesson and camp program teaching many kids the ropes of arena work. We think he would be a stellar hunt horse, dressage mount or just that all around equestrian team dream boy. He moves off seat and leg beautifully. Balou also has an extensive resume in harness, he’s pulled a Cinderella carriage, and a wagonette thru busy cities, parades, and weddings. He is absolutely the type to teach you how to drive or the type to hook up a couple times a year and take out for fun. He’s ok with the bigger riders with no balance and will also take care of the little kids. The barn kids have spent hours grooming him, playing around bareback, 1, 2 or even 3 at at time! If your kids can dream it up I bet our kids have done it with Balou.
This is a very hard horse to sell as he’s nearly impossible to replace. If sales were not a big part of our program this boy would never leave. I can’t say enough about him.
