Benny is looking for his ideal person: someone who is quiet and balanced with light hands; who has a forgiving personality but knows how to set boundaries; who has a goal in mind and is able to bring Benny along with them (preferably a trainer or working with a trainer). His ideal person shouldn't be intimidated by his size and sb a confident rider.

Benny has been with us for 4 years. In that time, we've been working on fixing his feet and working with a dressage trainer to get him balanced, supple and strong.... (read more) He has a cyst on his right stifle, but his joint is sound and he has no lameness (we have xrays). This means that he is limited to mostly flat work, but he loves to trail ride (will have to work up to going on his own), is willing to please, and loves to run.

Benny will require some maintenance. We give him Smartpak hoof supplements and cosequin/msm for his stifle. He currently has glue on shoes plus a wedge (left side) to stimulate heel growth ($250/6-8 weeks) but he sb able to wear normal shoes by the summer or if only doing light riding, barefoot.

Benny is quiet and respectful on the ground -- clips and bathes. No problem for the vet (our vet loves him). Horse trailers make him nervous. Don't even try a straight-load unless you sedate him -- we think this is left over from his racing days. He trailers fine in a slant load but he's nervous about getting on if it's a short trailer.

Clearly I'm willing to answer any and all questions because I love this big, sweet boy and really want him to find the right person for the long term. Price is negotiable to the right person and right situation. I have videos and pics upon request. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE (life is busy).
