Ladybird is a dainty sweetheart of a Thoroughbred mare. This mare is endearing, sensitive, expressive, bonds quickly and loves people & kids. Ladybird is joyful and full of life at 8 years old. She is currently unsafe to ride; however her groundwork is very good. Ladybird lunges well, listens to verbal cues, hand walks & trots, stands on crossties & for bathing, grooming, and tacking. She would be fantastic for teaching horsemanship, groundwork, and would love to be a model for a massage or chiropractic school.... (read more) Ladybird is intelligent and knows her person/people. Her true calling is to be a support animal as she is incredibly expressive with her emotions and with cuddling.
Ladybird has conformation issues which cause her discomfort which results in bucking when ridden. She has been examined by an excellent veterinarian who recommends a bone scan, saddle fitting, shoeing, and subsequent steps IF she were ever to be used for riding. She is green and was in the process of breaking in.
Therapy horse, support animal, driving carriages, loving family pet, companion horse are all great jobs for Ladybird. She is low in pecking order, loves my other mare, not marish, If you love working with horses but don't ride, Ladybird is for you!
