Indianapolis 500, known as Indy, is a 2016 tb who was race trained but never raced. He stands around 16.2/16.3hh (I haven’t sticked him in a while) with a nice big barrel. This horse could go in any direction of your choosing. Indy has some experience in the .80m jumpers, the 2’6 hunters, as well as some dressage training. He has schooled a couple fences at 3’6 and he shows the potential for it.... (read more) He has not been cross country schooling but he will go as soon as we can find the time! He hacks out alone, has his changes (not auto yet), and can step it up in the dressage ring with his lovely movement. He’s happy to flat on the buckle or to frame up, rider’s choice. Indy stands for bathing, clipping, farrier, tied, mounting/dismounting, and loads like a champ. Currently shod all around but planning on switching him to barefoot in the hind if he continues to stay with me. Some of the best ground manners you’ll see, not girthy, and an absolute love bug. As an added bonus, he also knows how to smile! (He also has a lifetime USEF membership)
Indy has been my personal ammy project horse since I purchased him from a field at the beginning of 2020. He was started slowly and correctly. I love this horse so much, but due to personal reasons I can no longer afford to keep him and he deserves better than to be on the back burner.
He is currently located in Aiken, SC. Asking low fives but I want him to go to a loving home so I am open to reasonable offers.
