Spade is an 8 year old grade pony gelding. He stands 13 hands tall. He is built like a big horse! Big hip and shoulder, clean straight legs. He is easy to catch, stands perfectly still to be tacked up, stands tied all day long, great for the farrier, stands to be bathed, let’s your groom all over him with no issues. He is 100% sound.... I got spade as a confidence booster for myself. I broke my lower back last year and had to have surgery. Bigger horses scared me as I couldn’t take the risk of falling off. It’s now time for me to go up to something bigger and Spade go on to be someone else’s confidence boost! He walk, trot, lope. Amazing stop, good back. Stands to be mounted and unmounted.

Spade is a trail riding machine. He keeps up with the big horses no problem. I like to refer to him as my “mountain goat” as there isn’t a place this pony won’t go. I swear he could climb the side of a canyon if you asked him. He crosses water, logs, ditches, mud, ect. Let’s just say don’t point him a direction you don’t want to go, as he is going to do it without hesitation.

Spade has no spook. He is traffic safe, great around dogs, kids, farm machinery, ect. I haven’t found a thing that phases him. He has been rode in parades, through town, down the highway.

Spade’s only down fall is he is slightly buddy sour. He isn’t mean about it anyway. He’s just a stubborn turd occasionally and will try to turn around to his buddies. Pull him back the way you want him to go and he stops. He isn’t going to hurt you in anyway he just wants to see what he can get away with.

He would be suitable for any rider that knows the basics and isn’t afraid to correct him on his buddy sour nonsense if he tries it. You could put a begginer on him if riding in a group with no issues, or he would also do great being ponied!

I absolutely love this pony but it’s time for him to find his new family to love him just as much as I have.
