Journey is a cute cute cute 3-year old Welsh Pony mix mare. She is the sweetest horse we have on the farm, and we love her to death. She deserves a new owner who will love her as much as we do!

We have had Journey since March 2022, when she came to us as a rescue. She was not halter broken, couldn't be caught, didn't know how to take treats out of your hand, and we were convinced she was abused. She would flinch at every touch and was scared of everything.... (read more)

Fast forward to now, and she is easily caught in the pasture, has wonderful ground manners, is perfect for the farrier, is a great riding pony, and definitely knows how to take treats out of your hand!

She would make a lovely horse for a kid with some experience (probably not a good fit for a kid with no experience at all though). She has really flourished and developed such a sweet personality with love and attention.

Journey has been started under saddle. She's still green, but she's a natural. She has way more whoa than go. She's not going to bolt off with anybody. She's content to relax and walk around, and she will trot pretty consistently when asked. Cantering can be a little difficult to get her up to speed, but for a kid's pony that might not be such a bad thing! It also might be because I'm not a pony size rider, and I'm weighing her down.

Journey is desensitized to a lot- motorcycles, cars, trucks, four wheelers, tractors, dogs, riding on the road, etc. She's great with being led with a kid riding her. Right now we are riding her with a bit-less bridle and western saddle.

Fun facts about Journey:

-She changes colors. She was a darker gray in March and is now a very light silver color with a dorsal stripe! We don't know if she's gray, grulla, or dun! Our vet doesn't know either!
-We sent her DNA to Texas A&M, and she closely matched with a Welsh Pony.
-She makes friends with every horse in the pasture.
