Taz will make an amazing trail mount for an experienced rider/trainer. He has been given the clear bill of health Aug 2nd and is current on all vaccines. Teeth will be due around Feb 2022. He's barefoot and has not had shoes since he's been with us. He's been sound since we have had him - never any lameness issues.
The con: He will turn and offer to kick when trying to halter him 9 times out of 10. He just finished 60 days professional training, where the trainer was able to halter without experiencing this issue.... (read more) Due to having a young (horse crazy) daughter, I just feel it's best he find his forever person who can be a stronger leader for him that I am capable of doing. I don't have the experience to correct this between him and I.
He's broke to ride, I was told he was used on trails, camping and hunting trips prior to my purchase.
We have been able to saddle him up, putter around our property on him. We have lead our daughter on him, as well. It's just the vice of haltering I haven't been able to get past.
He is not a beginner or kid horse. He needs his person to be a strong leader for him.
He's been pastured with my Arabian gelding and does fine with other horses, from what I have seen.
