Registered QH “Certain to moon you”. Aka ‘Doc’. Doc is a 6 year old, bay Gelding.
~16hh (not sure of his actual height but I’m 5’3 and I can’t see over his back). I’m not 100% sure of his height or weight as I have not been able to check that since getting him.
Doc was born to be a show horse and is trained in western pleasure. He was shown, but became sour and mean in a stall which ended his show career.... (read more) So I would not recommend stalling his for an extended amount of time.
He was then given to Parsons Mounted Cavalry where he spent 2 years being taken into parades, football games, and through riot schools. He did okay in the parades, but he would get overwhelmed and spooky about halfway through parades and could not be used anymore. So I adopted him and have worked with him and he’s been great. He rides great in an arena and out in a pasture or on trails. I think with time and a patient rider who’s willing to show him new things he’ll be great for trail riding, ranch work, arena riding, lesson horse, etc. He’s been great for me and I’ve shown him lots of new things and new places.
This horse has seen a lot and done a lot of really cool things.
I wouldn’t recommend him as a kids horse. He is big and very strong and needs a rider who can handle that. He is great with other horses in the pasture, but will kick another horse while you are riding him if another horse gets to close.
He’s sweet and very personable. Will walk up to you in the pasture if you holler his name and is very easy to catch. He’s easy to ride and transitions gaits easily and picks up both leads and has a very smooth slow lope. He holds his head low like a western pleasure horse should and has a great stop on him. I’ve taught him some liberty and he loves it and is super quick to learn new things. He’s been ridden by professionals, intermediate riders, and very beginner riders.
He rides in a regular snaffle, twisted snaffle or shank and does great in all of them. I mainly ride him in a snaffle.
Loads very easily and is quiet in a trailer.
Vet checks are welcome.
He’s big, built how a horse should be built, muscled up, and ready for a job.
Rabies, EWT/WN, strangles, rhino, zoetis-flu, coggins, and teeth float done on 07/02/2021.
He is barefoot and got trimmed on 07/06/2021. I’ve never known him to be lame, but he was off the day after getting trimmed, but he was back to normal 2 days after.
He sales as is with all his papers and records. His mane and tail are cut because of his previous job in the cavalry, but it is growing back fast.
He is branded with a 15 on his left shoulder (his birth year) and D/17 (D for Doc and 17 was his inventory number) on his rear left leg.
I have lots more pictures and videos. Please text or email me with questions. Come check him out and ride him. Must pick up in College Station, TX. I currently don’t have a trailer to haul him.
