This is Stormy Night or Storm as I call her. She is a Grade American Miniature horse who was born and raised on my property. She was born on June 1st of 2018 and is my entire world. She is the grand daughter of the first horse I ever owned. Sadly I am currently going off to college and my grandparents can't keep up with the horses anymore so I have two options. Sell them or lease them. I'm selling my riding gelding but hoping to free lease Storm out to someone wanting a fun project!... (read more)
What I'm offering is an off-site Free Lease! Meaning you pay nothing - not a cent in the world - to lease Storm on your own property. There is a contract that you MUST be willing to sign to lease her. It's just a general promise that you'll properly care for her, notify me if something were to happen, and not sell her. Ideally I'll only be leasing her out to someone in the state of West Virginia. However, I will consider leasing to any of the border states (Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, Ohio, or Pennsylvania) if the perfect situation for her were to arise.
Storm was bred to be a show-quality miniature horse. She is a tall, B-sized mare that is between 30" and 34" in height. She has a refined head, beautiful movements, is stoutly muscled, and I will start saddle breaking her in just a few short weeks as she is just about to turn 3. She'd be an amazing project for a robust kid looking to fool around with a pony. I say robust because she is testy. She is young and likes to playfully nip and shove you about. She is quickly growing out of this but she is not for a person sho doesn't understand horses and thusly not for a complete beginner. She'd make a great halter mare and I'd love to see someone take her to shows in the summer or just fool around with her at home.
I am open to leasing her out for any purpose. If you're looking at breeding a miniature foal of your own to raise and start your way but don't have a mare I'd happily let someone breed a pretty baby from her! She's accidentally been exposed to my neighbors Jack - but given the fact that she's come back into heat I don't think she was bred. Her mother had 3 foals before I sold her and was an amazing mother. Each of Storm's siblings have been exceedingly easy to train and are a joy in the families where they reside and I have no doubt that she'd pass those aspects onto foals of her own.
If you're looking at showing a miniature horse in Halter, Riding, or Driving events I'm fine with you taking a shot at it! She's been hooked to a sled and drug it around the yard fairly well for me recently. Though she isn't broke to drive I certainly don't think it'd take much to teach her. She learns very fast and has the confidence to try anything. I've already worked with her on properly setting for halter classes and she is picked that up that fast as well. Her next test will be saddle work that I'll be starting with her soon once I get home and buy some tack to fit her. If that's something you'd want to continue working with her on depending on how she handles it I'll happily let the tack go with her for her training to continue.
If you're just looking for a pasture pet to watch and feed treats to or a companion for another horse I don't care if she's just happily turned out into a field and left to be a horse for a while. She's young and I've started her slow and given her time to grow - but she could still use some quality growing time. She loves to run and play with our other horse Buddy and could be a lively companion. She doesn't tend to pick fights with Buddy and is generally rather sweet natured though she sometimes likes to think she's the boss.
If you have any interest at all in leasing Storm or any questions I may not have answered please don't hesitate to contact me at 304. 377. 0725. I have pictures of her from the day she hit the ground and videos of her too. Heck I even have a picture of her asleep in my lap! I do hope to find a way to lease her so that I don't have to sell my baby. Any and everyone is welcome to come and visit her and I can arrange transportation for her if need be.
I will arrange her shipping whenever she goes.
