PRICE REDUCED! NEGOTIABLE! This guy needs to find his person!!
Bob T (Big Ol’ Bay Thoroughbred) is a 16.2h, 5 year old gelding who needs a new partner ready to continue his training. He is stout, thick, and an easy keeper. He was purchased as a 3 year old and brought up correctly, shown at local schooling shows as a 4 year old until his owner got very ill. He stood in her backyard for many months as she battled cancer.... (read more) Unfortunately she succumbed to her illness this October, at which time Bob came to me. He has been getting back into shape and learning a little about jumping and is now ready to find his next person. He shows amazing athleticism and loves to work and jump. His lateral work is easy and he moves from the body and leg nicely. He does shoulder in, leg yields, and is learning haunches in and half pass. He’s still getting stronger in the gaits and transitions and will need continued riding by a skilled rider. Although he can get a little nervous and tense at times he has never been dangerous and can definitely take a joke! He tries his heart out. This horse is not suitable for beginner riders as he still needs training and direction. He’s best suited for an experienced horse person with a trainer and in a program or ridden by a professional regularly. Someone who can define their relationship with him, be his gentle but firm leader, and keep things fun and fair. He gets bored if not worked regularly and needs a confident leader both on the ground and under saddle. He is smart and young, so he finds his own entertainment if you don’t keep him busy and focused. He needs ample turnout and lots of room to run. Bob can go in any direction- Eventing, hunter/jumper, dressage... he’s very capable and athletic. Under the right rider he’s going to turn into a fabulous horse. He is terrific in the barn, ties, cross ties, tacks up easy, blankets easy and travels easy. Great for farrier and vet. Lunges in halter or in training aids easily. Now it’s just time to put the riding on him and take him out to see the world!
