Fergie is a 2005 Canadian Sport Horse x Clyde/TB mare standing approximately 16.3, with a sturdy build. She had lots of experience in the jumper ring through the open level with her previous owner, who had her since she was young. She became a broodmare a few years ago when her owner became unable to ride, and she has spent the past few months with us getting back into work. She is brave and unflappable, especially over fences- her current rider has not done much jumping in several years, and Fergie is showing her how it’s done!... (read more) She would be an excellent mount for someone looking to move into the adult jumper ring. Fergie can be a forward ride on the flat, and for that reason is not suitable for a timid rider (her temperament number is purely a reflection of her having a bit of a motor; she possesses zero naughtiness or spookiness). She is very educated over fences and does not rush or take over while jumping, she would just prefer to get the flatwork over with so that she can get to the fun part! She is a low-maintenance easy keeper who is currently barefoot and living outside (and while she is well-behaved in a stall, she does prefer a run-in situation, as that’s how she’s spent most of her life). Don’t let this mare’s age scare you, she’s sound and sturdy and loves her job, and she’s ready to help another rider learn how to ride a jumper! Watch Youtube Video
