5 yr. old 14h BLM Mustang Mare from the Nevada Wild Horse facility. Corona Moon (Rona) was taken off the range in October 2018 and held at the BLM facility until March of 2020 when she was pulled to compete in the Kentucky Extreme Mustang Makeover. She was trained by Stephi Frost. Rona is UTD on all shots and negative coggins. She picks up all four feet. Good for farrier and vet. She is currently barefoot for the winter, but could go without shoes year round.... (read more) Stands patiently when tied to anything and ground ties. Trailer loads and will walk out or back out. Walks, trots and canters, but has more whoa than go. She will more out when asked, but may offer a crow hop or buck to an inexperienced rider. She is road safe and has been ridden on many trails and will lead, follow, go in groups or alone. She will cross any obstacle including water. She is awesome on the trails and really enjoys it more than arena work. She sank to her belly in mud and no panic whatsoever. Very little spook, but when she does she just freezes until she sees no threat then continues on. I believe she would really excel in trail competition, but is smart enough to go in whatever direction you want to take her. She is the alpha in the herd, but is not aggressive and gets along with other horses. She is still getting use to domestic life and is cautious when encountering new things, but very level headed and just needs a few seconds to think things through. but then continues without issue. Great ground manners, including around kids, handicapped, dogs, 4-wheelers, RTV’s and tractors. She is still very green so she does require an experienced rider. It’s breaking my heart to let her go, but my health isn’t allowing me to give her the time she needs and she’s too good of a horse to let sit in the pasture. I want her to go to a home with someone who can give her all the time she needs and can take her to her full potential. If interested please email our email address.
