“Tex” is looking for a new pasture. Tex is a Bay roan gelding located in Jasper, GA. My loss is most definitely your gain. This guy is a unicorn through and through. He has the speed to run events, but the level head to be ponied for kiddos or even around the arena and on trails. My 5 year old is currently learning to ride on him. Tex is 10-11 y/o, up to date on coggins, shots, farrier, and worming. He stands for bathes like a champ and loves them.... (read more) Will almost self load, stand tied, and work well for the vet and farrier. Whether you’re looking for a trail horse, ranch horse, or roping partner; Tex fits. He stands at 15.1 and has muscle to boot! Tex has no problem trailing out alone or in groups. He crosses water, goes over obstacles, and doesn’t spook. He’s a point and go kinda guy. Tex is best suited for an intermediate rider due to his speed and want to go. He will also work for beginners in controlled settings like arenas, round pens, etc. Tex was once used for roping, although I haven’t tried, I have swung a rope on him and beside him with zero reaction. Solid ground manners, lunges well, and can sit in the pasture for over a month and be the same horse when you go out to get him. Easy keeper and stay fat on pasture. Tex is out of registered AQHA stock but was purchased and being sold as grade. Easy catch on 100+ acres and has zero buck, kick, or rear. The ONLY bad habits he has is not liking his face sprayed (throws his head up) and tries to slowly walk up when you’re mounting sometimes which is typically when he hasn’t been road for a good while, but never anything crazy. My 5 year old can lead him around and also ride bareback on him. You can also ride double or even triple under saddle or bareback. You aren’t going to find another looker and we’ll built horse with a mind like Tex! No tire kickers or free rides. If you’re serious, Bring your trailer because you aren’t going to want to miss this one.
