Memphis Blues is a jack (stallion ) donkey with a gorgeous dappled blue roan coat . Not many donkeys (or horses) around with this unusual color . Just 3 years old , Memphis Blues has a long life ahead of him... time to produce those pretty blue babies ! He was raised on a ranch living on the open range with cattle . He's not halter broke or trained to lead yet , but he seems willing to make friends wit people if handled gently . . Big and stout, 13.... (read more) 2 hands tall . Donkeys grow until 5 years of age ,; he might grow a few inches taller . No dorsal stripe or cross over his shoulders either . This boy could easily hold a colt or calf and teach them to lead . There's a possibility that he could sire blue mules for you too , as he is very interested in mares . Lots of bone , sound , good hooves (no founder ) ; he should be able to pack out an elk or any other heavy load . (If you're looking for a riding donkey , then castrating Memphis Blues would be a good idea as it will make him a more mellow fellow) . But his true future lies in his being a BREEDING JACK , a jack of COLOR!!! I believe he will breed both jenneys and mares .
