Cisco is a 7 year old, very well built and beautiful boy. Has excellent ground manners and is very sweet. He is built thick and has no health issues. Cisco was rescued several years ago from a Kill Pen. He had suffered some emotional trauma and we have spent the last several years working with him on becoming a confident and stable minded companion. He is absolutely gorgeous and loves people, but there are still things that cause him to become insecure and frightened.... (read more) He is not and may never be a kids horse unless he is used on the ground and show pen ( he would be a show stopper in halter class). He has come a very long way and just completed 90 days of professional training. His PTSD is still something to overcome; however, he no longer bucks and bolts as a reaction to being scared. He will need gentle guidance and steady, consistent and loving training. I don't have to part with him, but due to time constraints in keeping up with his training and economic issues, I have to downsize on the horses I can keep. We have horses we use for competition and he is not being worked with on the consistent level he needs to keep him moving forward and not regressing back into his insecurities. Like I said, he spent 90 days with a professional trainer, but he will need several years of consistent training to really become the safe and steady. It breaks my heart to think that something tragic happened to him to cause him to be so insecure, so I will not let him go to just anyone where he will be given up on and end up back in the kill pen. He is gorgeous and sweet and very smart. I would prefer someone with training experience who can continue to develop his skills and understands how a horse's mind works. This horse can be amazing in the right hands. His price reflects the amount of money already invested in his training. Negotiable only under very special circumstances. He can stay here and be loved for as long as it takes to find him the perfect forever home where he will continue to blossom.
