NEED TO SELL TO PAY FOR ANOTHER HORSE VET BILL
Slick was a terrible race horse! He raced four times and it was VERY clear he would not make it at the track. The tracks loss though because he has a great brain, a willing attitude and a capable body.
He may be young but he has an old soul, he is confident in new situations, that is why I think he could make a great eventer. He is even "pretty" enough to do the hunter circuit.... (read more) Overall I feel he could be "the go to horse" the "steady eddy" with some more training. My daughter and my son have both ridden him here at our farm in the ring and out in the field.
He has had a few rides since the track and he WTC quietly on loose rein in the ring, he picks up both leads nicely. He hacks out quietly in the field. We are working on teaching him to stretch over his back and add some swing to his movements. He stands 16.1 but is not done growing yet, he has a thicker build than a typical thoroughbred.
He has no vices, he ties, bathes, clips and trailers. He is barefoot and has a current coggins, as well as his original JC papers. He has been turned out with mare and a gelding and he was low man in the pecking order. He stalls or he can stay turned out.
He is a gentleman when being handled and is respectful of your space. He has been around dogs, cats and our rescue calves with no problems. He comes right to you from the pasture and loves attention. He has begun his new training and he is a joy to work with, videos available upon request..
