Registered Fox Trotter Gelding. He is a dark Buckskin in the winter, almost bay, and a shiny golden buckskin in the summer.
He has a very kind personality. Was ridden all over Missouri, taken camping by an experienced Cowboy before I bought him. He was shipped to California and he was everything that was promised. Kind, safe, and well broke.
I am an advanced beginner and feel very safe on him. He is smooth and comfortable. He can ride in a bitless bridle or in a snaffle.... (read more) He is usually ridden Western or with a bareback pad. He loves to go trail riding!! His feet are nice and hard so he doesn't need to wear shoes. Trimmed every six weeks and he is always wonderful for our farrier.
Teeth were floated in 2019. Wormed regularly and micro-chipped. Knows all his basics but nothing super fancy in the arena. Has also been used in several professional photoshoots with models. He is rarely ever spooky and when he does, he usually stops in motion and looks at said object. His reactions have never been major. He has NEVER bucked, bolted, or kicked. I feel he can be handled by almost anyone with horse experience. I would recommend an Advanced Beginner, like myself and up. He is also very easy to catch!
Now here are the things that are not perfect. He likes to be the boss of other horses. Can sometimes be rude to certain horses, especially around food. He lives with another gelding who allows him to be the boss so it works fine. It just depends on the other horse. My gelding also has some allergies and if given the wrong hay or grain, he will be itchy. Recently he rubbed out his mane so it's short at the moment because I trimmed it to be even. I did an expensive allergy panel to find his specific allergens. He does just fine on straight Alfalfa.
He's a great weight, has a calm demeanor, clean legs, never been sick or lame since I had him. Because of his allergies, I am pricing him much lower than what I think he is worth. I paid twice as much for him and it cost several thousands of dollars to have him hauled from Missouri to California.
I will consider only wonderful homes. No rush to sell him. I have over 45 photos and a few videos that I can send in a link if requested.
