***Are you looking for a KID SAFE, GRANDMA SAFE, THERAPY/LEADLINE/KIDS CAMP/SLOW and STEADY TRAILHORSE EXTRAORIDNAIRE?
Well LOOK NO FURTHER! *** COME MEET SPECKLES! **
SPECKLES is a MELLOW 19-YEAR-OLD PERCHERON/QUARTERHORSE GELDING standing 16 hands high. He is as safe as they come. His most recent job has been taking beginner riders on walk ride only trail rides through steep and rugged terrain. He takes riders from tiny tots to the elderly and is the same careful and sure footed, calm, cool and collected individual- regardless of what we encounter.... (read more) Birds, vehicles, deer, turkeys, bobcats, cows, bags, deep water, narrow cliffside trails, snakes, smoke and fire, drones – you name it. He has seen and done it all. He as also been a superstar during kids camps where he stands like a statue to be brushed, washed, feet picked, dressed up in costumes, climbed on, lead around and walk riding / obstacle course lessons - teaching the basics to new and sometimes fearful riders. He rides in halter, hackamore, neck rope, bareback, English, western. Stands like a statue for fly sprays, massages, farrier, vet. Cross ties, single ties – he will stand tied quietly. He stands at anything you want to use for a mounting block and stands to be mounted from the ground. He loves being massaged and stretched and loved on. He has the most handsome droopy bottom lip! Speckles is UTD with his vaccines, deworming, dental and farrier care. He wears front shoes as our terrain is very rocky. He is an easy keeper and requires very little maintenance for arthritis. Speckles is looking for a home to semi retire where he doesn’t have to navigate our steep terrain and tons of hills every day and exacerbate his arthritis. He would be best suited for a therapy program or kids camp/beginner lesson horse home or a person that appreciates just a slow and leisurely super safe walk down a nice easy trail once in a while. He rides out alone and in groups of up to a dozen horses in a hack line. He likes to ride toward the front and is a fearless leader. He will also pony other horses as well as be ponied. He doesn’t eat grain, just a ration balancer and good quality free choice hay with 24-7 pasture turnout in a mixed herd of draft horses, miniatures, mares and geldings. We can’t say enough good things about this horse. We love him dearly and want him to enjoy his next chapter in a home that will appreciate his genuine good guy charm and dedication. We will be very thorough in choosing his next home as he is very special to us and we know he deserves the best. Feel free to message me with questions or to set up a time to come meet Speckles. Serious Inquiries ONLY. References will be checked.
