All Around, Beginner, Kid Safe, Project, Ridden Western, Trail Riding
Beautiful 7 year old bay dun quarter horse/draft cross mare. Being sold at no fault of her own after a year, just don't have the time for a horse and I'm not as good at riding as I thought! (As you can see in that one picture.)
Will walk, trot, canter, gallop, and back up under saddle and on the ground. Perfectly fine bareback with a halter/mecate or in a saddle with a mild bit. Used to both snaffles and curbed bits, direct rein or neck rein.... (read more) She'll never need a severe bit and usually rides bitless. Will go solo or in a group, I almost always trail ride on my own and she does perfectly fine. Great with obstacles and loves water. She has a very calm, relaxed demeanor but will gladly stretch her neck out and gallop when you ask her.
She's being wasted as a pasture pet and needs someone who will take her into the discipline of their choice and ride her regularly. Willingly hops into a trailer, stands for the farrier, comes to you in the pasture, puts up with vaccines and wormer and baths, no vices aside from vocally making it clear that she would like a treat! Super easy keeper during the winter. I can safely say that this is a horse I feel comfortable sitting underneath and letting a small child ride.
No known health problems, no lameness, teeth were checked by a vet last year. She had a too-short trim from a new farrier back in June and her hooves grow slowly enough that she still has false soles in her back hooves. She's completely cleared to ride, though, as long as you don't do any sharp high-speed turns on slippery surfaces for a bit!
Asking $4500. She's worth more than that, but I want her to go to a good home more than anything, and I would rather lowball her price and make her available to a larger pool of people. I can also include her tack for a bit extra. Call, text, or email Sidney with the contact info provided if you have any questions! I'd love for you to come down and ride her if you're interested.
