Kota is a 2018 bay tobiano gelding sired by my National Champion halter stallion GFR Silver Spirit and out of my imported foundation mare, Serenity. I expect him to mature to around 14 hands tall. He is pssm1 negative (both through parentage as well as through testing).
Although Kota is not yet two, he has had extensive handling. He spent a month last year at a local high school as a youth horsemanship horse, working with youth to learn obstacle courses.... (read more) He attended the Minnesota Horse Expo, and after that, went on to show at several shows. He has two Reserve Champion Gelding placements (earning GVHS lifetime halter points), and ultimately came in GVHS Reserve Champion Year-End Vanner Advantage winner, winning a buckle and a jacket! He has one show toward his qualification for the GVHS North Americn Championships in September.
Kota could continue to win in the show ring for you, or he would be happy to be a backyard pet or trail horse. His heart doesn't really seem to be in showing, but he will do anything for his person. Kota lacks confidence, so really needs someone who can be a leader and dedicate time to him and would really thrive under natural horsemanship training. I raise a lot of gypsies, and while most aren't really one-person horses, Kota is definitely an introvert and is definitely going to bond strongly with his person. This is why I put him for sale; I am very attached to him and I love a winning gelding, but I have a lot of gypsies that I show and just can't commit the time to be his leader. This gelding is very, very special to me, however, so I'll be screening his home to make sure it is the absolute perfect fit.
Kota is up to date on 2020 vaccines and coggins. He is GVHS registered and microchipped. If he is not sold before he is fully qualified for the GVHS Nationals, he will be pulled from the market until after Nationals and his placing at Nationals will be reflected in any price increase.
