Solid and quiet, rock solid temperament with a good work ethic. Babe came to us through a benign rescue in 2017 and has been a pleasure to work with. She had not been ridden or handled much when she came to us but within weeks she was doing walk/trot/canter - although she has a little more whoa than go - she is very careful. She can take a lot of pressure and is not a reactive horse at all, has never bolted or bucked and does not have any spook in her.... (read more) She was in a training program for 3 months in 2018 until we bred her in the hopes of getting spotted sport horse, and although she was confirmed at 30 days she slipped the foal sometime early in the pregnancy. We put her back into training about 6 months ago and she will remain there until sold. She is a dependable trail horse but can get attached to other mares; she is not overtly aggressive to other horses, she has a quiet wisdom about her and it turns out she is the alpha mare in the situations we have put her in. She has a confirmed walk/trot/canter in the ring and is steady on the trails; would consider her a bit green still so the best home would be with an educated horseperson simply to continue her education. She is great with children or beginners but will be lazy. Easy keeper, great for the farrier and vet, hauls - pretty much does anything you ask. I hate to see her go but we are a professional training barn and we need to find her a forever home. She is not registered, the only way to register her is to have her spayed according to the Appaloosa registry. The person who bred her passed away in 2008 and I she was kept on a private pasture until her owner was no longer able to take care of her; unfortunately there is no other information on her.
