Penny is a 13 year old chestnut Registered Quarter Horse. When I bought her in 2013, she was advertised as a barrel prospect. She can be ridden both English and Western but prefers English. Penny has competed in a winter Dressage series, combined tests, hunter paces, participated in town parades, and has numerous miles on the trails. She can jump (is very willing although we have not jumped very high), can neck rein and direct rein. Knows how to bend and flex and is pretty flashy in the lower level Dressage rings.... (read more) She stands on the tie-line all day and night (when camping). Stands tied in cross-ties in the aisle and in wash bay, and tied to a horse trailer. Stands for farrier & vet. Penny is best suited with a confident handler for she can be unsure about situations at times on the ground. She is an absolute breeze under saddle.
She would be great with someone (WITH EXPERIENCE) who wants to leisurely trail ride on the weekends and do arena work during the week. Great at mini shows like combined tests! She is extremely intelligent and wants nothing more than to please her human! She is eager to please and is very happy and willing to learn new things.
SHE IS NOT A BEGINNER HORSE.
She gets along great in the pasture with mares and geldings. Penny is sound, and UTD on all shots and teeth (fall vaccines done 10/16/19 and teeth were floated in Spring 2019)
Selling due to no fault of her own. Time is a limiting factor with my job and wanting to start a family soon and she needs someone who can give her the time and consistency that she deserves.
Preferred way of communication is through text. I work a lot and will always see the text, not always the email but will get back to you as soon as I can!
