I am Looking to rehome each of my horses to a northern state as our climate is very hard on their health. I’m ONLY asking for you to cover shipping costs to complete the sale, the "sale price" on this add does not apply. If seriously interested, please contact Brookledge Equine and ask for a quote from Vero Beach, FL to your area, most shipping costs will be OVER $1,200 per horse. The most important thing to me is for them to have a good home, there is no catch.... (read more) Please read everything below. Also please specify which horse(s) you are interested in.
Bumper - APHA Registered, B&W Mare. Regis # 515,094. 20 years young, 15.1 hands. I have owned her 16 years, and she has always been sweet, attentive, and eager to please. She has basic western training, good ground manners (Clinton Anderson training methods). Mostly Rides in a d-ring snaffle. Is sound, and loads/trailers/ties/clips well. No vices. Does have insect allergies and white skin: both need to be taken into account with proper daily care. This summer in Florida she requires preventative care for non-sweating and heaves with a very low dose of oral dex and One AC. Has been a very good trail horse and loves it. Has been WELL taken care of with timely vet/farrier/Dental visits, proper nutrition and supplements, and detailed daily care.
Pumpkin - APHA registered Chesnut Paint mare. Regis # 773,699. 16 years young, Daughter of Bumper. 14.2 Hands. Cute mover, well muscled. Good ground manners - Clinton Anderson training. Has very limited work under saddle in the round pen with a hackamore. She’s a great learner and is calm, and actually kind of lazy, lol. She’s still capable of being a good project horse. She loads, trailers, ties, baths, and clips well. She’s also been ponied on some trail rides. No Vices but in Florida she needs daily preventative care for heaves and non-sweating with a low dose of oral dex and One AC respectively. She also has had the same level of excellent and timely health maintenance as Bumper.
My veterinarian has very optimistically told me that most horses’ symptoms of heaves and non-sweating can disappear completely once moved outside of Florida or to a cooler climate, or at least one with better seasons. I have lived with them in Dayton, VA for the summer of 2017 and 2018 and they did great there.
