"Ernie" is a very nice, athletic and well trained gelding with the potential to make a great performance / using horse.
We have had him for about 5 years and used him as a guide horse for our trail riding business.
He has lots of hours just walking the trails , so he is very laid back and calm. He can be ridden in a group or by himself without a problem.
He is not aggressive with other horses or barn/buddy sour.
He has been exposed to a wide variety of things, including traffic/ bikes/ wildlife/trailering/arena riding.... (read more)
You can get on him anytime without warm up, even if he has been laid off for a while.
Sometimes he spooks a little bit but it is not bad - just a quick step sideways and he is done.
He has never lost a rider and is very solid and reliable at this point.
His trot is very smooth and he has a nice, rocking chair type lope.
Ernie is completely sound and healthy and has no bad habits.
He is bred to "eat" a cow and should make a great rope horse!
I can haul him within a 100 miles for a reasonable fee.
Please call for questions, thank you!
