SOLD - SAGE is a gentle giant of a horse. He is all of 17hh and is most likely Appendix Quarter horse. Not tattooed so unraced. He's had lots of training and rides easily on the bit with very little effort. He'd absolutely be a wonderful horse for a beginner or intermediate type rider that rides both English and Western. He is as safe as they come. He'd be a wonderful confidence builder and take good care of his rider. He loves TLC, being groomed and just a delight under saddle.... (read more) I could easily see SAGE as a kid/young adult/adult hunter, very handsome husband horse, hill topping with the hunt. I recently brought him to my farm to finish his weight out, as being on grass pasture 24/7 wasn't getting the job done. He's a soft soul and tended to get pushed around a bit. Sage is a very nice finished horse that you could be winning on in no time flat. He's been there and done that. He rides calmly alone or with company. Sage has had alot of training and there are buttons there that I haven't had the time to find yet. I recently blew out my knee so I'm not riding anyone at the moment.
The attached videos were filmed by a prospective buyer. I am using the videos both of me riding SAGE (my first ride). I'm usually alone, so it's tough to get video and good pictures... I was just several weeks post op from surgery (don't tell my doctor). Also (with the prospective buyers permission) I'm sharing the videos of the buyers daughter, a 14yo gal who was very tall. Feel free to contact me for more information. He is just a sweet horse with a heart of gold.
7/28: had a very talented gal out for a test drive (which went extremely well in the 90* temp) about an hour ago. An interesting thing came to light. This gal, shows halter horses and does showmanship. She started playing with him a bit...and it appears...
Sage may have been shown as a halter horse at one time or another. He squared up without hesitation when she did an up and back. Ears up, Bam. Pictures added below. In light of this revelation and closely scrutinizing the pictures of him standing, I am inclined to think he is an Appendix Quarter Horse. But not sure... 17hh seems a bit tall, for Appendix but maybe not.
