Skippin Son D School aka "G". 2006 APHA 874,824 solid black gelding. He is an honest 16.2 hands. G is one of a kind with his stunning looks and amazing personality. One of the most versatile horses out there. He's dabbled in everything including dressage, eventing, jumping, ranch pleasure, and western dressage. He's also a rock solid trail horse.
G is not a quick mover but will always give you a nice relaxing ride. He will canter through fields and ride down the road (including the highway) all day.... (read more) Not barn sour. He has mostly been ridden alone, however he has been on organized rides as well. G is a confident leader but will ride wherever you put him in the group. This guy will cross water, obstacles and other deadfall without hesitation. He is truly an excellent trail horse.
If you like a very well trained horse that is super soft in the face and sensitive to seat and legs aids, G is for you. Because of his training, this gelding would workout best for anyone working with a trainer or someone who is familiar with using their legs and seat. G has the skill set of dressage, reining, pleasure type horses. Someone who knows how to use their aids correctly or WANTS TO LEARN to use their aids correctly will excell with G.
This gelding has been extensively trained and ridden. His previous owner rode him regularly in dressage and hunters. He has dressage scores 68-74% even at the WEC in second level. G also has many open show reserves for hunter pleasure and equitation. This summer he was in reining and western dressage as well.
G is finished at the walk, trot, canter, lope, rollback, leg yield, shoulder in, shoulder fore, jumping correct up to 36" (with reconditioning for jumping), and he's amazing on the trail. G sidepasses and will do any lateral work when asked but needs more consistency to do it perfectly.
More than just a fancy show horse, G is a down to earth all around horse. He has lived next to cattle and been pastured with them, so he has no fear of them. He rides quietly in the darkness of night if you need to do a late night cattle check. G rides bareback for those spur of the moment rides. The best part is he's not a spooky horse at all.
This boy has ALOT to offer. Get him in shape and back in the show ring and enjoy a relaxing trail ride after. G would be a great horse for a teenager to learn a lot on from open shows to 4h, or even for the more experienced person to leg back up and continue his show career. If you can dream it, G can do it. He pays attention and aims to please.
NO maintance issues, SOUND and Healthy. NO vices. This boy loves people and loves having something to do. Loads, bathes, clips, ties, stands great for grooming, tacking, mounting. Rides in a snaffle or bosal. Easy to catch as he LOVES people, but he's not spoiled or pushy. Gets along great with other horses in the pasture or out riding. Stays broke. NOT hot. I really can not say enough about this boy. He is one in a million and so kind. You will fall in love with him. Great feet, nice legs. G has always been well cared for and loved; he has not been passed around. His previous owner of several years is willing to answer any questions a buyer might have about his previous training and show experience. He is currently being trail ridden. He is in need of a LOVING forever home that will use him to his fullest potential.
