This is a free horse, but only to a great home.
I have owned this horse for years but I just don't have the time to devote to her anymore (and haven't for years) and it kills me. I've been holding onto her for selfish reasons, but she is suffering for it and deserves better.
Phoebe is an absolute darling. She's an experienced and reliable trail horse with a willing attitude. She is beginner safe and very sweet. No vices. She is also smart and enjoys learning.... (read more) But physically she needs some reconditioning. She is under-muscled (especially her topline) and a little underweight as well. But she is healthy and sound and I can provide you with veterinary confirmation (feel free to hire a vet of your choice too). She's always been kept up to date on vaccines, coggins, etc and has no history of medical issues. She was foaled on 4/4/2004 and will turn 13 this April. When she is in good shape she is stunning. She has great confirmation and sure footing.
She will make someone a wonderful horse as she has done for me. But please do not mistake this for an open invitation to just anyone.
I board this horse at a nice barn where she is fed, sheltered and receives regular veterinary care and farrier visits. I also ensure that she's receives regular exercise as much as possible by having a girl from the local college equestrian team ride her twice weekly.
So if you cannot offer her a better situation, then please don't contact me. I don't mean to be rude, but parting with this horse will be hard for me and I only want to do it if it improves her quality of life.
I want her to go to an experienced horse person with lots of time on their hands to give her the attention she deserves. And honestly, I want whoever takes her to plan on keeping her forever- not a recondition and sell sort of thing. I know that's asking a lot, which is one of the reasons I am asking for no money. You'll be paying in commitment.
If your up for it, please contact me
My husband is in the military and we've shipped her a few times as we've moved around the country. She does very well.
*new owner will be responsible for all shipping costs.
