Genuine Slush Fund - "Gin" - is a 2003 registered AQHA mare.
*note she does NOT have parrot mouth she's just having fun playing in the water in the photo!*
This mare is offered for sale at absolutely no fault of her own. I've owned her since January of 2014 and have nothing but good things to say about her.
Gin is primarily used right now as a trail horse. We have done long days riding through both the Great Smoky Mountains as well as up at Norris Dam.... (read more) She trail rides well in a group as well as alone, is non-aggressive, and doesn't care where she's at with the other horses. She will not rush to keep up if she happens to fall behind. She is not spooky around traffic (including bikes and motorcycles), the road, and animals out on the trail. She has been ridden with dogs following and while she doesn't like them she has never kicked out or tried to charge one. She will cross water and will wade out into the lake as well. This mare will walk/trot/canter as requested, though she definitely has more "whoa" than "go" so you may have to remind her to keep her in a canter.
Gin has been to rodeos, barrel races, and cattle sortings multiple times since I have owned her. She doesn't get hot or worried, rather she is content to stand and watch everything go by including large machinery. I have had her in the pen on cattle - she's no all star but she will get in there and push them around.
This mare ties, picks up all of her feet, stands for farrier, trailer loads, stalls with no issue, or can be turned out to pasture no problem. Since I have owned her, this mare has never bucked, reared, struck out, or anything silly like that.
Previous to purchasing this mare, she belonged to a woman in Kentucky who used her primarily as a brood mare. When I purchased this mare, I did not know that she was bred. She foaled out a gorgeous champagne stud colt in June of 2014 with no complications and was a great momma! Gin is also foundation bred - link to her pedigree http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/genuine+slush+fund
The only reason this mare is offered for sale is because I simply do not have time to ride her like I used to. This is a mare that you can leave sitting in the pasture for months on end, then pull out and go trail ride with no problems. With supervision, this mare would be an excellent mount for a confident beginner or youth just needing something to pack around on.
We would be willing to haul this mare for a test trail ride with a deposit in hand.
Can haul within a reasonable distance for a fee.
