**New Note: Below is the original ad I placed on Dutchess, but I would like to revise it some. We had some people come look at ponies and they came to see Tiki and they bought her, but their kids ages 4 &6 spent more time on Dutchess. They had a blast on her and they had NO experience. They did listen as I gave instruction, but they bounced around on her, trotted her around and then my daughter hopped up there and galloped her. He was soooo good. She still has a little bit of a faster walk but they had a hard time deciding which to take after that!... (read more) Happy Shopping.
Dutchess is a 42" paint mare pony. She has never been foundered, no bite, kick or rear. Ties, loads, tacks very well. Has a very proportionate body and a big kind eye.
I bought her in a herd of wild ponies from Perkins in a kill pen. All were heavy bred so I took them all. She is one of three that have gone through being broke and ready for a kid to ride.
All the other mares were heavy bred and stayed home and had baby mules, her and a couple others did not look far along so I sent them to be ridden. I can not confirm or deny that she is or isn't bred, but my guess is she would be and she would have a baby mule next spring. The other paint mare had a loud color mule and was very flashy.
She is not goofy or spooky, but does travel quick. I am not recommending her for a toddler, though you could lead line one on her no problem and let them grow with her. She would make a great little play day pony or trail pony. She walks out very fast due to keeping up with all the big horses while she was being trail ridden during the time she was getting broke. Lifts her feet and can be groomed and tacked easily.
She was wormed 9/4/16. Call with more questions, Located in Coweta, OK, contact: Shannon
