Apollo is a rescue horse. Not exactly sure on age, vet thinks around 11. Apollo was a 1 on the body condition scale when I purchased him, so he is still a bit on the skinnier side and definitely could use some muscle. He is the kindest soul, has great ground manners, leads and picks up all four feet. Still a little nervous with fly spray and water, but as long as you go slow with him, he eventually comes around. He gets in the trailer daily, as it is their current shelter.... (read more) Apollo will only go to an experienced and approved home. He truly is a diamond in the rough, and will be gorgeous and amazing when his body condition is 100%. He has super tough hooves and we assume he is broke based off of the fact that he had saddle sores when I got him, but his riding ability has not been assessed as we have really just been focusing on him gaining weight. His only issue is an Esophageal Fistula, a pocket in his esophagus that fills with food when he eats. The educated conclusion based on discussions with the vet is that he was kicked a long time ago and the way it healed created a pocket of scar tissue. He has lived with it for a long time, and when it fills up he can cough up a little bit of gunk, but other than that it doesn't effect or hold him back. I really wish I could keep this guy, but college is forcing me to adopt out all of my rescues, he is truly going to be amazing. More pictures/videos upon request.
