Heidi is an extremely fancy, eye-catching, golden palomino Welsh pony mare with rideability and temperament to match. She is a very uncomplicated ride for a child with an easy speed and steady rhythm. She has a GREAT trot, canter, and jump. She is easy to steer, easy to move forward, easy to keep going, and very easy to whoa. There is none of the frustration of using the crop and spurs excessively. There is none of the fear of a pony that runs off, goes too fast, or won’t stop.... (read more) She is the perfect medium between lazy and forward. She does not require a crop or spurs to move forward, only a clear leg squeeze or a cluck (for trot) and kiss (for canter), but at the same time, she is eager to slow down and stop.
On the ground, she is easy to catch, lead, groom, load, bathe, and tack up. I have NEVER seen her mare-ish or sassy. She is quick to greet anyone that walks into her field. She has never pinned her ears back at a person or offered to bite, lunge, or kick. She is handled by kids all day long. She is not reactive or spooky on the ground or under saddle. She goes to new places without any kind of nervousness. She is already used to loud highway traffic, motorcycles, four-wheelers, bikes, tarps, etc. She goes through deep water. My girls trail ride her through the woods and play games in large open fields. She is a happy, healthy, well-rounded pony.
She is being ridden by my 6, 7, and 10-year-old in lessons with a trainer and is ready for her first show. She navigates 18-inch-2 foot jump courses at a trot or canter with grace and ease. She has a good, natural lead change, getting her lead right most of the time on her own. The videos below are outdated now, only showing her right after she was broke. She has come a long way since then, and I will be posting new videos of lessons and jump courses in the next couple weeks.
She is about 12.2-12.2 now but should mature as a medium pony, over 13 hands. She is full Welsh but cannot be registered with the WPCSA. Her bloodlines include Dandardel and Rowfantina, I believe, but I need to check on that. She can be registered with the Palomino registry.
Her price will increase with training and showing. Please contact me if you are seriously interested in this precious girl: (cell) 352-256-1824.
These videos are outdated, from way back when she was being broke to ride. I will post new ones, hopefully very soon!
