Chief has lots of potential that just has not been utilized up to this point in his history. Had a great start and was sold as a 5 year old and then had very limited use as a trail horse until this spring. Brought into training with me to make a young kids horse but has too much energy for that job. Would be perfect as a teen's second horse for 4-H or a nice trail horse that could be used in the ranch versatility, western dressage world. Has a very soft mouth, and likes to learn and be ridden.... (read more) Needs finished off one-handed for patterns but can do rail work and trails one-handed. Good on leads, daily work on two-tracking, turns on hindend and forehand, and has flying leads from two-track. Natural strides for pole work and can easily do trot overs and lope overs set at typical show distances. Has been hauled to one open show and didn't mind loud speaker and busy warm up pen. Clips, baths, and hauls easily. Does still need exposure to water on the trails and was a little hesitant at parking lines painted in the concrete etc, little more spooky on windy days, so an intermediate rider is best who can calmly show him these new things. Currently being trained in all- around show events as well as barrels and poles as he has the body to do it all. Great find for someone who wants to spend a little time him off. Only issue I have found is that he is a little cinchy and so needs cinch adjusted slower and walked out before mounting. Does not pull back but just has sensitive skin. Training is paid up through May 1 . NEW VIDEO Watch Chiefupdated
