Willow is a 10 year old "Pintoloosa" she is approx. 13h tall. there is no buck, bite, or kick, never been foundered, ties, loads, washes, easy to trim and shoe.
I have owned her since she was 3 years old (picture of her on my website "perfectponyrides.com" when she was three. She used to be the best childs horse ever, but I sold her years ago and they never rode her so I bought her back. Then I let her have a baby and she is an amazing mother and throws a beautiful baby, and again I got her riding great again and resold her a second time.... (read more) (I kept the option of buy back because she is an amazing athletic pony and we loved her, but just never really needed her due to having our other trail horses we rode). Again, these people NEVER rode her and this time let her get very spoiled, they had a good heart just weren't horse people. Again I bought her back! I would say that if you want her for a child just ride her a bit, she isn't going to try to buck them off and won't run off if they know how to stop one, but she has a little bit of a motor.
If you trail ride she will go anywhere you point her! We just got back from Falling Water in Ark. and I rode her and she did wonderful, I even ponied her one day so I could ride my other horse and she did great (you could pony a child NO PROBLEM), She doesn't jump the creeks or logs just walks over and through them, doesn't trot the whole way but rather walks quickly to stay up (unless you have gaited horses she has to keep up with) She pickets, stalls and pastures great. If you have other colts or babies she will protect them.
I am a heavy woman and she rode those mountains with me no problem so an adult would be great or put an kid up there that knows how to ride and just go. (I will say after a little more riding I would put just about anyone on her). I have even taken her to my trainers and let her jump and she loved doing this and she would also make a good play day pony. (doesn't know patterns but is athletic) I want a good home for her this time where someone will actually ride her or do something with her! She is not spooky and stands while you get on, carries saddlebags, slickers (and you can wear your slicker no problem on her). I just ride her in a simple snaffle bit.
A good home is a must, don't call and ask if she is right for a child that will be up to you and the childs ability to ride. I would trust her with my kids 10yr/12yrs but they ride calm and know how to ride.
I had an entire vet check done on her a year ago at Dr. Miller in Muskogee, completely sound, no cancer etc. great vet check, I think he should still have the records. I gave them to the previous owner and never got them back. She has a current coggins and is freshly shod.
There is a craigslist ad and I have lots of pictures from our March, 2016 trail ride: Tulsa listing, Farm and Garden Section, pull up by her name "Willow".
