Patches - approx. 11 years old, standing at 14.3 hands. Excellent ground manners; ties, clips, bathes, braids. Trailers in straight load or slant like a total dream.
I have owned this horse for over six years. She has tons of training and experience but she thrives off of a "high pressure" riding lifestyle. She would require a balanced and confident intermediate to experienced rider as she is very intuitive to precise rider aids.... (read more) She needs someone who will provide an active/competitive lifestyle for her. She can sit for weeks on end and you would be able to saddle her up and go for a trail ride without trouble; but she performs best and is happiest when ridden regularly. She excels in jumping and Dressage. Has schooled under saddle up to 3', has free jumped up to 4' with room to spare. Cross countries like a breeze. Tucks up beautifully over fences and would perhaps make someone a decent Hunter. Super fancy mover with ample impulsion and suspension. Has Dressage training up to first level and has schooled cross country at novice. She has spent hundreds of hours in the arena, on the flat, over fences and has logged many, many miles out on trail all across California, both in the mountains and on the beach and everywhere in between.
Patches has always been kept on my family's property, has been properly cared for and well maintained. She truly is a wonderful horse and it has been a difficult decision for me to sell her. I am a full time college student and I have also recently developed some health issues that effect me on a daily basis. I do not ride on a regular basis, I have lost all desire to ride competitively, and I hate seeing a perfectly good competition grade horse go to waste. As I said above, this horse thrives off of competition and a high stress lifestyle... The pressure of competing stresses me out.
She has tons of training and loads of untapped potential. This horse could literally take you to new heights. But, it must be noted that with my health issues that she has not been working at the level she was once riding at perhaps 7-8 months ago. I have kept her free jumping regularly, but we have worked under saddle over no more than 2' oxers in several months and she is only ridden on average one day per week. A good home is an absolute must. She is priced to sell at $4000. I will provide a 30 day money-back trial period, no questions asked. Sale contract will include a "First Right of Refusal" clause.
Potential buyers/trial riders: Jumping and/or Dressage experience is a requirement. Must be Intermediate or above rider with good balance, steady hands, and lots of confidence in the saddle. This horse will perform as good or as poorly as her rider does.
