Chevy is a good natured and social boy who gets along with everyone, human and horse alike. He has a big ground-covering walk and nice floaty trot for his Quarter Horse type build. He has had a lot of desensitization work - won't bat an eye at tractors, dirtbikes, ATVs, dogs, etc. and is super to stand for fly spray, grooming, and blanketing. Is a pro on the trailer (in fact has babysat 2 of my reactive rescues who needed a friend on the trailer).... (read more) Has done a lot of groundwork; yielding to pressure, turning on forehand/hindquarters, backing, and lungeing, tarps and poles. The picture is from his very first ride EVER - nice and mellow. He currently stands at 15 hands, but is just turning 3, so may grow a bit more. As an added plus, he is super tidy in his stall and paddock! He has had excellent care since I rescued him at 5 months old, is sound and healthy and up to date on everything. He is barefoot with excellent hooves. I will be selective about where this baby ends up!
UPDATE 11/25: Chevy's doing great with standing to mount, walk, trot, halt. I have been ground driving him in full harness (can see pics in Worcester Craigslist) and will be hitching him soon. Will make a fantastic driving horse.
