Starbuck is a gorgeous Quarter Horse Appaloosa gelding and a rare Hawaiian import. He was shipped to California in 2007, and has been featured in print ads, fashion campaigns, and used strictly as a pleasure horse on local trails. He's extremely well-bred, out of Hobby Doc sire and painstakingly trained by breeder/trainer Lauren Frye, of Silver Falls Ranch (Kauai, Hawaii). He is a solid 4.5 in temperament. Forgiving, easygoing, mellow, and able to absorb a riders faults, but definitely has a 4th and 5th gear.... (read more) He's compact, athletic, exceptionally well-built, flawless conformation, smart and steady. He has a very soft mouth and requires a subtle rider; very leg-driven and responsive. Which of course makes his rider look awfully talented. He was bred for competitive cutting/breeding, but ultimately unregistered due to his height. He's twelve years old, 14 hands, trained in reigning, cutting and pleasure. The mare and sire he came out of are both NCHA and HICHA champions titled in New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and Hawaii. His mother is ApCHA titled as well. Aside from all of that, he's just a really sweet, and extremely good-looking horse. 100% healthy and sound. Can be feisty in the pasture, but gentle enough for experienced children. He is an absolute DREAM horse, SWEETHEART, and LOVE. Has had ONE owner, has been very well cared for and a total joy to own. I am only selling due to family illness. Pricing is non-negotiable, this horse is worth every penny and more.
