Steady trail partner ready for a fulltime job. 3.5 years old and 16 hands (still growing) and had a ton of exposure the last 18 months since I started him. I can not recall one easier and more willing than this colt in the 30 years I have been staring my own. Hauled all over N. CA trails and to obstacle courses. Brave dude loves to eat up the trails, yet sensible and sensitive. NO buck, no rear, no bolt or jigging. Solid in front of a group without getting hot, ok in middle and will go last too, but has hard time staying there cause he is so long-strided; ends up passing, but you can circle him back and he will even leave the group.... (read more) Good brakes and steering nice flat walk with some speed - the running walk is faster - and his canter is a true rocking chair feel. He is a blast to ride. Been exposed to many obstacles, natural and man-made. Nothing phases him. Crosses any bridge, even suspension bridge, crosses tarps, ditches, animal skins, any type of water box, stream, lake, gully, or mattress. Drags tires, branches, and anchors, you can dally to the horn. Carries a flag, and is used to gunfire, tractors and combines. Opens gates, backs thru narrow spots, can handle ramps and really keeps his nose to the dirt on narrow trails. Experienced horseman will enjoy him, but he is not a kid broke or beginner lesson type gelding. He would be best suited for field trials, endurance, competitive trail riding - he has a motor and a drive to move on down the trail. Loves to go - will haul and load like a pro, stand tied for hours, quiet to saddle, head in the dirt to bridle/halter, stands still at the mounting block. Farrier/vet safely, first to meet you at the gate and low man in the herd. He is sweet and smart and wants to please. Bonds strongly with handler. Knows all the Clinton Anderson Fundamentals and some of the intermediate too. Supple and soft in the mouth and head...can move all 5 body parts on the ground and under saddle, ridden in a snaffle. Price reflects his strong foundation, I have put many hours in saddle and on ground with him. No papers - they are lost and can't track them. Pusher on top Ebony something on bottom. $4500 no trades please, I have a new colt coming from GA in 2 weeks. Call Dana 707-310-7338 or email me, Located in Vacaville, CA.
