"Jerrys Taxes are Due" (Sadie) is a 6yo AQHA dun mare by Jerry Lees Surprise out of Trista Twist. Finished in reining (NRHA licensed). She won her green reiner classes at her first 2 horse shows. Has had limited showing because I'm not big on competing, which is why this mare is being offered for sale. Too much talent to waste. Always plusses her stops, lead changes are automatic and smooth. She's a smooth and uncomplicated ride. She is easy enough for a beginner that is working with a trainer - she was recently ridden at a "reining practice" event by a reining novice and was a super star.... (read more) I've even put my beginner husband on her. She has a mind good enough for a beginner rider, but has too many buttons for them, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend her for a beginner.
She would also be a great all-around horse. I've taken this mare on trails and started her on cows. She's been in a reining demo at a carnival, and didn't even baulk at the carnival rides and flashing lights. Self-loads on the trailer and stands like a soldier. Good for the farrier, vet, and dentist. Teeth were done in July 2015. Never had any soundness issues, but I do not have radiographs.
Not that color matters, but this one is incredibly pretty! Beautiful classic dun with 4 white socks and a feminine head. She does have some superficial scars on her hindlegs from a previous owner, but they are not particularly noticeable and cause her no discomfort.
Open to offers, especially to a good long-term show home. Not in a rush to sell this mare. If she doesn't sell, I will likely buckle down and compete in Rookie with her next year. Feel free to email me for any questions, or if you would like to see more pictures or video.
