All Around, Barrel, Ridden English, Ridden Western, Show Experience, Trail, Trail Riding, Western Pleasure, Western Riding
15 hands. Bandit is a great all around horse. I have used him mostly for trail riding, but he knows many other things as well. He has a slow jog while lunging and under saddle. He has a slow lope while lunging and with a little more work it will be great under saddle as well. He had been started on barrels 3 years ago, but I don't barrel race and my friend who was teaching him moved. He remembers the pattern and could easily be started back on them.... (read more) He has plenty of speed and responds well to voice commands. He has been trained to neck rein. On the trail he crosses water a high as his belly, ditches and bridges without a problem, but does prefer to follow instead of lead. He is my favorite on the trail because he is steady and I'm not afraid to drop my reins and relax.
Bandit can ride English or Western, but is a little hesitant at jumping, so would do best with flatwork. Bandit collects well and rounds out his back when asked. He can go barefoot or shod, but if barefoot he needs front boots if he goes out on trails (I have ones you can buy). He is currently shod on his front feet and up to date on coggins, shots, and floating. He stands for the farrier, for baths, and for braiding he has been taught to lower his head and keep it there when you are working on his mane. He also stands like a champ when tied anywhere, on a post or on a tie line. Bandit stops on a dime when you ask him to, if you say "whoa" be ready for the brakes. Bandit does require an upper intermediate to an advanced rider as he is sensitive to cues and has a lot of go when asked. If interested please text, call or PM to set up a time to come out to meet and ride him.
Bandit is only priced this low due to the fact that I haven't done much with him this year. He will require a refresher, but shouldn't take much to get him where up want him. If he stays with me for another month, I will give him the refresher and his price will go up. Short video available. Sale Price: $800 firm (502)377-1006
