Mr. Ed, Palomino, Quarter Horse Gelding. Ed is a big bodied, solid boy standing 15 HH. Ed has awesome color and good confirmation; he is not registered. I purchased Ed as a trail horse when he didn't work out as a barrel prospect for his former owner. A speed horse Ed is not, he has the ability to move out but does not have the ambition for speed events. Ed is content to do the leisurely riding that trails have to offer, he is comfortable in any order in a group and will ride off alone.... (read more) He has a big engine and has been on long, weekend trail rides with his former owner and loved to go into water. He loads in a trailer without hesitation. I have only ridden him around our property and adjoining farm fields. I can get a really nice lope and jog out of him when working in the round pen. He is a good horse but would do best with consistent handling from a strong willed person. Ed likes to use intimidation to get his way and unless you are capable of calling his bluff he is not limited in his tactics. He is not vice free. He needs a firm, experienced presence to let him know he is not the one who pays the bills. Ed is an easy keeper; he is a dominant horse amongst the herd but is not mean and not a bully. He is a very friendly, curious fella, always ready to greet you and go out of his way to walk up along the fence in hopes that you are specifically looking for him with a treat. He is food motivated. Ed is beautiful to watch when he's feeling his "oats"; he can stick his nose high in the air and flag his tail as well as any Arabian. He is utd on all his cares (6way, potomic, rabies, teeth floated and sheath cleaned upon his routine spring vet check-up) and has a current coggins. Ed's feet are trimmed quarterly with no concerns; solid feet, does not need shoes. I am selling Ed as my nine year daughter old has outgrown the Shetland pony, she will be able to finish the year riding him but will need a replacement for next year for 4-H and Ed is not the type of horse I can share with her. Please feel free to email me; I have more photos I can share.
