"Sammie" is a 4 1/2 year old, 15.2 hand Belgian x quarter horse cross. Should finish around 16 hands, but big enough of a barrel for just about anyone. What a fantastic young horse! Simple, cluck and chuck ride. Sammie is currently being used in the lesson program for riders as inexperienced as beginners to the more experienced intermediate riders. Sammie is a barn favorite amongst the kids and would be a wonderful addition to any home! He is well mannered and quiet in the barn, good for grooming, tacking, bathing, farrier, etc.... (read more) wears front shoes. Currently Sammie is being ridden 3-4 days a week, but does not need to be in a consistent program to stay quiet. He goes in just a snaffle and has a very consistent way of going. He walks, trots and canters, knows his leads and has started on his changes. He has a floaty, daisy cutter trot and rocking horse canter. Extremely comfortable and easy to ride! Is happy to go on the buckle or with some contact. He's currently jumping a 2'3"-2'6" course consistently, but has schooled single fences to 3'. He is very careful, jumps with tight knees and has plenty of scope. He is brave and honest to the fences. When carrying the beginners over cross rails he does his job and takes care of them, will not jump them out of the tack. Doesn't get offended if his rider gets off balance and can definitely take a joke. Sammie has also been hacked out both alone and in small groups. He is well behaved out of the ring as well and is happy leading or following. Sammie is 100% amateur friendly and would make a great horse to bring along in many directions. We could see him excelling in a lesson program, as a mount for local hunters or even going on to be a fox Hunter/trail mount. He has the brain, look and talent to go just about any way! Sammie is sound with no vices or issues. He lives out with geldings and is an extremely easy keeper.
Great home is a must!
