Blue Eyed, Cutting Prospect, Field Trial, Flashy, Ranch Work, Reining, Trail Riding, Western Riding
3 year old unregistered paint filly, Dixie. She's right between14.1-2 hands and sound. Was told she could be registered but it sounds like the stud fee was never paid by her previous owner and the stud report wasn't turned in (dont know much about that stuff). 2 blue eyes, both with "eye liner". She's a nice easy going gal, walk trot canter, stops on "ho" (whoa) with light pull on the rein, backs with light pressure. She does everything in a simple halter, side pass, started on spins, stops well, you can open a gate while mounted and she's quiet for it.... (read more) Moves off of leg pressure. I've had a D ring snaffle bit on her multiple times but have only actually connected reins to guide her from the bit 2 or 3 times since she does perfectly fine in a halter. She goes through water/creeks on the trail. Lunges both directions, knows her ground manners, no biting or kicking, ties, stands for me to trim her hooves. Not neck reined but she's starting to get the idea and I've ridden her multiple times with one hand. Does better on trails if another horse is present but she'll go out alone and be quiet, just more cautious. No bucking, rearing, never bolted. I've drug a tarp off of her and have it all over her at a walk and trot, no freaking out. She'll go over loud wooden bridges. I've ridden her backwards walk tot and stood up and done a couple "tricks" on her, she doesnt care. I've carried a flag on her, I've taken her on the street and cars dont bother her too much but wildly barking dogs running up the fence make her nervous. Loads into our 3 horse slant with slight hesitation to smell before she gets in but not a refusal. I've roped things off of her and had her pull against/drag stuff and she couldnt care less, but hasn't been around cows. I've taken her to a mexican rodeo and she wasnt scared of anything, a bull trotting around that got loose near her, standing by the live mariachi band and dancing horses, she was great. She's not a finished horse so I would like to her to go to someone who knows what theyre doing to continue working with her. I would love for her to go to someone who wants a horse to do reining as she already has the idea of it, cutting, or to be a ranch horse.
-she will lick the ground (dirt)
-she will feed off of a prancy snorting horse on the trail and step up her pace. She doesn't act stupid or jiggy but will slowly try to break into a trot if you're not paying attention. She slows back down when cued to. Doesnt feed off of other horses in an arena though
-she will lazily paw while tied when left alone.
-she acts quirky at first at a canter while bareback, in a saddle she's fine. I have videos of both below.
$1,800 in hopes of her going to a home where she will stay for a while and not get neglected. She likes people and attention. If interested, message me or text with questions or for more pictures 916 432 7047
